I want

"I Want"
by Tish M.
I want to eat the moon and lick the sky,
Let stardust kiss my lips as I fly—
Not grounded, no, but gravity-defiant,
A tempest wrapped in velvet, fierce and quiet.
I want to run through the galaxy’s open doorway,
Barefoot, breathless, where comets make their roadway.
I’ll paint the cosmos with my hunger,
Feed every star with my thunder.
I want to dance with the waves,
Crash and rise, unshackled and brave.
Let saltwater bless these aching feet,
Until I remember I am complete.
I want to lay on a bed of wildflowers,
Time slowing in their fragrant hours—
Sun-warmed petals, a lullaby for skin,
Where peace begins and wars grow thin.
I want to harness the power of the sun in my soul,
Fuel every step toward becoming whole.
No dimming, no shade, no compromise—
Just blaze and burn until I rise.
I want to battle with my heart and pen,
Drown in truth again and again.
Let ink bleed stories I’ve yet to tell,
Surrender to the beautiful hell.
I want to live until the very end,
Without retreat, without pretend.
Breath by sacred, stolen breath,
I’ll dance with life and flirt with death.
I want to run my fingers through the wind,
Pull secrets from where dreams begin.
Name each one, make them mine,
Stitch them into my spine.
I want to chase and capture all of my dreams,
No matter how fragile the seams.
I'll rebuild every time they fall—
Brick by hope, breath by call.
I want.
I want.
I want—
And isn’t that the most honest thing of all?
