Mutilating Dogs for Aesthetics? You’re a Sick Fuck

Mutilating Dogs for Aesthetic? You’re Fucking Sick.

Let’s talk about it. The barbaric, outdated, diabolical, and outright demonic practice of ear cropping and tail docking—otherwise known as mutilating dogs for no good reason. If you’re one of the people who still think this is okay, sit down, shut up, and listen.

Why the Hell Are People Still Doing This?

Historically, there were so-called “reasons” for cutting a dog’s ears or tail. Working dogs, like guard or hunting breeds, had their tails docked to prevent injury in the field. Some had their ears cropped to reduce the risk of being grabbed in fights or attacks.

But here’s the kicker:
We’re in 2025, not the goddamn 1600s. Most dogs are not out there battling wolves or chasing down criminals. They are pets. Beloved, loyal, innocent pets. Yet some sick fucks are still hacking off parts of their dogs for aesthetic reasons. You know, so the dog can “look tough” or fit an arbitrary breed standard.

Do you know what you actually look like? A fucking fool.

The Truth: This Is Nothing but Animal Mutilation

Let’s break down what this really is:

  • Ear Cropping – Cutting off part of a dog’s ears (usually without anesthesia), forcing them to endure weeks of painful healing, all for a “sharp” or “alert” look. It serves NO health benefit and actually makes it harder for dogs to communicate, since ear movement is a big part of canine body language.

  • Tail Docking – Amputating a dog’s tail, often when they’re just a few days old. They scream, they suffer, and they lose a major part of their ability to express emotion. Their balance is also affected.

  • Risk of Infections, Pain, and Psychological Damage – Studies have shown that these unnecessary surgeries lead to chronic pain, nerve damage, behavioral issues, and increased stress.

For what? A "cleaner look" for your Instagram aesthetic? You should be ashamed.

Dogs LOVE Their Ears Rubbed – And You Take That Away?

You ever rub a dog's ears and watch them melt into pure bliss? There’s a reason for that.

A dog’s ears are packed with nerve endings that stimulate the release of endorphins and oxytocin—the “feel-good” chemicals that help them relax, bond with their humans, and relieve stress.

When you rub a dog’s ears, they experience:
A calming effect – Reducing anxiety and stress
Emotional bonding – Strengthening their connection to you
Pain relief – Endorphins act as natural painkillers

Now imagine robbing a dog of that simple, joyful pleasure—just so you can have some "badass-looking" pet to match your ego.

A cropped-eared dog misses out on this experience because humans chose to butcher them before they ever had a say in it. It’s beyond cruel.

Countries That Have Banned This Cruelty

Unlike the U.S., where these practices are still allowed (because profit-driven kennel clubs love their “breed standards”), many countries have taken a stand against this abuse.

Here are some of the places that said enough is enough:

Ear Cropping & Tail Docking Banned

  • Australia

  • New Zealand

  • United Kingdom

  • France

  • Germany

  • Sweden

  • Norway

  • Denmark

  • Switzerland

  • Netherlands

  • Austria

Strictly Regulated or Banned Except for Medical Reasons

  • Canada (some provinces)

  • Spain

  • Italy

  • Portugal

Meanwhile, in the U.S., the American Kennel Club (AKC) continues to promote ear cropping and tail docking as a “standard,” despite the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) openly opposing it.

So tell me, who’s really looking stupid here? The people with their unaltered, happy, healthy dogs? Or the ones parading around with a dog whose ears were hacked off because they thought it made them look cool?

Let’s Be Clear: If You Do This, You’re a Garbage Human

Yeah, I said it. If you are willingly mutilating your dog for aesthetics, you deserve the same energy back. I don’t give a damn about your “but it’s my dog” argument. That’s like saying, “It’s my child, so I can cut off their ears if I want.”

If that idea makes you uncomfortable, good. Sit with that.

Animals feel pain. They feel fear. They suffer. And you’re choosing to put them through that because you think it looks better? Go get therapy. Go work on whatever insecurity makes you need a brutalized animal to feel powerful.

The Verdict? Mutilation Is Not a Flex.

If you have a dog, love them as they are. Stop trying to force them into some outdated AKC bullshit standard that means absolutely nothing in the real world. If your ego is so fragile that you need to mutilate an animal to feel good about yourself, just know:

You are trash.

And if you don’t like hearing that, do me a favor—go dock your own ears and see how that feels.

I’ll wait.

Final Thought: May You Have the Day You Deserve.

Which, if you support this cruelty, isn’t a good one ass-bag.
