There is nothing like getting away from the 'norm' - there's nothing like taking a break from life and all of it's woes. No matter where you live, how many kids you have, how broke you are; there is still a way to live life and feel like you are on your own adventure (kids and/or animals in tow) 

No excuses. Save your money, hunt for travel deals, and don't forget there are actually free things to do here in 'Merica (though far & few between there is still something here for you & the family to do).

Tripadvisor.com is a Godsend; Google too. Search free things to do near your home or destination and you will 9.5 times out of 10 will be pleased at what you discover. I'm a huge fan of knowing what I am getting myself into no matter how big or small the adventure. The moment you step foot out of your comfort zone you are on your own personal adventure- with that said, be prepared for fun and anything that life may throw your way.
